A KEY TO THE ENERGY TRANSITION
The transition to clean fuels must be affordable, reliable, sustainable, and contribute to the decarbonization of hard-to-abate industries, in line with U.S. energy policy goals. NiQuan’s Integrated Solution (NIS) offers a commercially proven pathway to produce 100% biodegradable, clean, lower-carbon drop-in fuels, which immediately reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) and other emissions in these critical sectors. This directly supports the U.S. government’s focus on reducing carbon intensity in fuels and achieving national decarbonization goals under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) and other federal initiatives.
Our NIS is designed to repurpose underutilized energy assets, such as mothballed ammonia and methanol plants, as well as stranded gas fields, into revenue-generating clean energy facilities. This approach aligns with the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), which emphasizes modernizing energy infrastructure and promoting clean energy solutions, as well as the broader U.S. policy goals of economic revitalization and job creation in the clean energy sector.
Our first small-scale GTL plant in Trinidad and Tobago, the first of its kind in the world, was developed using the NIS and is now commercially proven. The plant produces clean, 100% biodegradable fuels, which can be seamlessly integrated into hard-to-abate industries, supporting U.S. efforts to decarbonize sectors like transportation and heavy industry.
Additionally, NiQuan’s NIS incorporates carbon capture and utilization (CCU), a technology aligned with U.S. policy goals incentivized through programs like the 45Q tax credit, aimed at encouraging innovation in carbon management. This integration of CCU not only reduces emissions but also turns captured carbon into valuable assets, contributing to the transition toward a low-carbon economy.
NiQuan’s NIS offers a replicable and cost-effective solution to monetize non-performing resources, enhance domestic energy security by reducing reliance on foreign fuel sources, and contribute to the global clean energy transition with scalable, affordable clean fuel solutions. By utilizing stranded gas fields and brownfield sites, NiQuan also aligns with U.S. policy objectives to leverage existing infrastructure for sustainable energy production.
Our NIS is a replicable and economical way to monetize non-performing resources and implement “flares-out” policies all while producing clean fuels that contribute to the clean energy transition.
